Poetry is coming to town!
4 September 2007
Wow. There is a fully loaded Mac Truck of poetry headed for Edmonton. It's packed to the gills; its break-lines are cut; it's set to slam into Alberta's capital this September 17th-24th! Edmonton Poetry Festival is coming to town, bigger, badder, louder than you've ever heard it before!
It is going to be a wild ride! All the details can be found at the Edmonton Poetry Festival website. In particular, keep your eyes out for a few events I'll be involved with:
- Return of the Killer Blinks (a Stroll of Poets Society rapid-fire poetic sampler)
- CORTEX (The Cortex—a mind-blowing multimedia display mixing art, dance, poetry, and music)
- The Roar LitCrawl (The Roar's poetic pub-crawl of the best spoken word from Edmonton and beyond; Mike Appleby, Adam Snider, Nicole Pakan, and I will be rocking the mic at The Fabulous Leprechaun Burlesque)
- Small Words, Big Moments (DailyHaiku print journal launch and haiku workshop... with tea!).
- Coffee Lines (Edmonton poets storm downtown coffee spots for an afternoon of public poetry).
Also, for those Zen-ishly inclined, DailyHaiku is now accepting submissions for our next contributor cycle until September 30, 2007. Write haiku? Love haiku? Send us a submission; we'd love to see a sample of your work!
